The Newbury Woman's Club Weblog

Serving Newbury, Vermont

January 2021

After a year of pandemic doldrums, the Club has sprung to life with new initiatives and hopes to resume all of our usual activities once the vaccine has done its job. Despite the difficulties of meeting in person, we still managed to make good use of the beautiful Vermont summer by hosting outdoor gatherings of our Pins and Needles Group, the Newbury Book Discussion Group and our Potluck Dinner (aka Cooking) Group. However, once cooler weather arrived and with it a surge in new COVID cases in the state, our usual indoor meeting venue was forced to close and so all our interest groups have also been on hiatus since last fall. However, our Old Village Church Committee has jumped into action and planned a big renovation project on the church building for the coming year. In response, our Fundraising Committee has developed plans to support both that initiative and earn money to fund our annual community donation efforts.

Please click to our “Old Village Church News” and “Club Fundraisers” pages to learn more about these activities. Also check out our Go Fund Me page to lend your monetary support to our work.  Also new is our Facebook page (@newburywomansclub)!  .
