Welcome to 2009! Many people have told me that they enjoy receiving our newsletter even though they don’t often have time to participate. Well – why not make this the year to start? As always we have several activities planned for the coming year. Coming right up you’ll note that the cooking group has scheduled a dinner for the first week in February. If you have never participated in one of these potlucks, you might want to consider attending. The food is FABULOUS (and the company is even better!). Also check out the cheap seeds offered through the gardening group and make note of the meeting times for Pins and Needles and the library book discussions.
Don’t forget that we are also entering our big fundraising season. We will be starting things off with our annual refreshment table at Town Meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd. It’s just around the corner, so mark it on your calendar. We will be looking for donations of snack-type items (muffins, cupcakes, cookies, etc.) that can be dropped off that morning. All proceeds from that table go to our Old Village Church restoration fund. Also, start your spring cleaning a bit early and save all your discarded items to donate to our big flea market in March. Look for more details on this event later in this letter!
It was great to see many new faces at our December meeting. Feel free to pass this newsletter on to your friends and neighbors and be sure to invite them to come with you to any of our events. This is going to be a wonderful year!! Jane H. Labun
